Tonnerre

This is the local town (which is about 15 minutes drive away).  One of the most famous features of the town is the Fosse Dionne (see left).  This is a natural spring that was used by the town folk for centuries.  Very deep! Natural springs a common feature in the Burgundy region and many towns in the region have these.  As with many French towns parking is easy to find (and free!).

Tonnerre offers a fair range of restaurants to choose from.  The town is served by Tonnerre railway station (from which Paris can be reached in about one and three quarter hours for 45 Euros per person) - good for days out further a field!

The town has two main super markets (Auchan & LeClerc) each of which has it's own petrol station.
